Ruth Benny
Founder & Head Girl
The founder of Top Schools, Ruth has over 26 years’ experience in the education system in Hong Kong. She has the advantage of many years in different areas of education – as a teacher, a teacher-trainer, a parent and now consultant.
Ruth writes and speaks about private and international schools for parents, corporations and other groups. She is a frequent contributor to local media including the SCMP, Playtimes and Sassy Mama and generally regarded as the go-to expert on this topic.
Originally from the UK, Ruth has been in Hong Kong for over 26 years and is the mother of two children; both now at boarding school in the UK.
Ryan Rudisaile
General Manager
Ryan studied for a BA in Elementary Education in the USA and has been working in various international schools across Asia for over 8 years. Ryan's background as a digital arts teacher eventually led him to work in marketing/admissions roles within the education sector.
He joined Top Schools in 2021 and brings a wealth of marketing knowledge, creative skills and a passion for digital art.
Born and raised in Colorado, USA, he is a proud father of two young boys. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
Nicola Elener
Senior Consultant
Nicola is passionate about the experience of the international students and strives to ensure they enjoy the process and expertly encourages them to reveal the fascinating parts of their character and shine a light on their passions and personal achievements, to successfully present the best version of themselves to gain places to the schools that best fit their academic profile, interests and abilities.
Nicola is ‘international’, having attended school in Ireland and Hong Kong and Germany as a teenager, lived in South Africa and now in the UK.
With years of experience as Registrar in 7 schools over the past 17, Nicola was primarily responsible for the recruitment of senior international students.
About Our Support Team
We have numerous consultants in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Singapore. Most of our consultants are parents, teachers or both. They have all have a strong background in education and regularly visit the schools we are considering for our clients.
Our consultants speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
